Protect the People Who Depend on You

We offer term, whole, universal, and ERIExpress life insurance through Erie Family Life Insurance Company — from affordable term coverage to lifetime whole life policies.

Term Life Insurance

Term life covers you for a specific period of time. It's typically the most affordable option because you're only paying for coverage during the years you choose. If something happens to you during the term, your beneficiaries receive the death benefit.

Available terms: 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 years
Fixed premiums for the life of your term
Convertible to whole life down the road
Can also be used for Key Person business insurance
Best for: Families, homeowners with a mortgage, business owners protecting a key person, anyone who needs coverage for a defined period at the lowest cost.

Whole Life Insurance

Whole life covers you for your entire lifetime — not just a set number of years. It also builds cash value over time that you can borrow against if you need to. Premiums are fixed and the death benefit is guaranteed.

Coverage from $10,000 to $10 million
Accumulated cash value you can borrow against
Flexible payment options
Accelerated death benefit for terminal illness at no extra charge
Best for: Long-term planning, final expenses, leaving an inheritance, building cash value for retirement, covering children for their lifetime.

Universal Life Insurance

Universal life combines the affordability of term with the cash value of whole life. You get flexible payment options and the ability to adjust your coverage amount over time without signing a new contract. Cash value grows with guaranteed interest.

Flexible premium payments
Adjustable coverage without a new contract
Cash value, loan options, and guaranteed interest rates — building cash value over time
Best for: People who want permanent coverage with more flexibility than whole life, or who want to adjust coverage as their needs change.

ERIExpress Life

Need coverage quickly? ERIExpress offers term or whole life insurance through a simplified application process — no medical exam, faster approval. It's designed for people who want straightforward protection without a lengthy application process.

No medical exam required
Simple application — can be approved the same day of application
Available as term or whole life
Best for: People who want quick, easy coverage or who are concerned about passing a medical exam.

Life & Health Insurance FAQ

Term life covers you for a specific period — 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 years — and is typically the most affordable option. If something happens during the term, your beneficiaries receive the death benefit. Whole life covers you for your entire lifetime and also builds cash value you can borrow against. Term makes sense when you need coverage for a defined period, like while your kids are growing up or while you still have a mortgage. Whole life is better for long-term financial planning, final expenses, and building cash value. We can help you figure out which one fits your situation — or whether a combination of both makes the most sense.
A Medicare Supplement plan helps pay for the costs that Medicare Parts A and B don't cover — deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Without one, those out-of-pocket costs can add up quickly, especially if you need surgery, regular treatments, or a hospital stay. If you're 65 or older and enrolled in Medicare, a supplement plan is worth looking into. The best time to enroll is during your Open Enrollment period — the first six months after turning 65 and enrolling in Part B — because coverage is guaranteed during that window regardless of your health.
That depends on your situation — your income, your debts, your family's expenses, and what you want covered if something happens to you. We offer a free needs analysis and risk evaluation with an agent: we look at the specifics like your mortgage, kids' college, daily living expenses, and final costs, and work through the numbers together. Call us and we'll take the time to go over it with you.
More people than you'd think. Family life insurance protects the people who depend on your income. Business owners use key person life insurance to protect their company. Homeowners use mortgage life insurance so the house is paid off if something happens. Partnerships use life insurance to fund buy/sell agreements. And many people carry a policy simply to cover burial and funeral expenses. If any of those sound like you, come talk to us.
Yes. Erie's ERIExpress Life offers both term and whole life coverage with a simplified application and no medical exam. The process is faster and more straightforward, which makes it a good fit if you want coverage quickly or are concerned about the exam process. Coverage amounts may differ from traditional policies — we can walk you through the options.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare — you keep Parts A and B and add supplemental coverage to reduce out-of-pocket costs. You can see any doctor who accepts Medicare. Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces Original Medicare with a private plan that may include additional benefits like vision or dental, but typically restricts you to a network of providers. Erie Family Life offers Medicare Supplement plans but does not sell Medicare Advantage. We can help you understand why a more comprehensive policy would make more sense for your healthcare needs.
